Hashtag & Trend Scout

Every Monday: Bluesky's trends and top posts for your niche become the hashtags that fit you and five drafted post ideas in Notion. It never posts.

Available About 8 min to set up

What it does

Every Monday: Bluesky's trends and top posts for your niche become the hashtags that fit you and five drafted post ideas in Notion. It never posts.

  • Every Monday, reads the topics trending on Bluesky and the top Bluesky posts of the last 7 days for your niche keywords, from Bluesky's public APIs (no sign-in). The 7 days are worked out in code.
  • AI keeps only the trends that genuinely fit your niche (skipping news and topics you rule out) and lists the hashtags actually used in the niche posts.
  • Drafts five post ideas, each with a Bluesky version (300 characters) and a Mastodon version (500, with hashtags), in your tone.
  • Saves everything as a page in your Notion content database for review.

What it needs

  • A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans).
  • An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
  • Notion, connected in Settings → Integrations, with a database shared with Fluxo Flow.

What it doesn't do

  • It never posts: you review the ideas and post the ones you like.
  • Bluesky data only (the Mastodon drafts are written for Mastodon, but trends aren't read from Mastodon).
  • No hashtag usage counts: it lists hashtags seen in the top niche posts, not how often they're used.
  • Bluesky's trending topics are general and its public search may change; when a source can't be read, the page says so.

Availability and plans

Available

Its workflow is built and tested, and every app it needs is live. You can get it and set it up now.

Included free on the Enterprise plan; on other paid plans it's a one-time purchase per workspace (the price is on the Agents page). The Agents page in the app always shows its current status.

Before you start

  • A paid plan: agents run live, and the Free plan only runs Dry Runs.
  • An AI provider key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more) in Settings → AI Providers. AI usage is billed by your provider.
  • These apps, connected in Settings → Integrations: Notion.
  • Nothing to send: the agent runs on a schedule.
  • About 8 minutes.

Set it up step by step

Get the agent first (buy it, or it's already yours when your plan includes it), then in Agents → My agents press “Set up this agent”. That creates the agent's workflow in your workspace (it counts towards your plan's workflow limit) and opens the canvas with a setup checklist above it. Each item links to the exact place to go and ticks itself off when it's done.

1. Connect your AI provider

The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.

2. Connect Notion

Connect the Notion workspace with your content database (Settings → Integrations → Notion).

3. Your niche keywords

Open “Search your niche on Bluesky” and replace the placeholder in the address with your keywords.

SettingWhat to enterIn step
Your niche keywordsIn the address, replace YOUR_NICHE_KEYWORDS with one to three words for your niche, joined with + (e.g. sourdough+bread). Posts must contain all of them. It starts as “YOUR_NICHE_KEYWORDS” until you replace it.“Search your niche on Bluesky”

4. Describe your business

Open “Pick the trends and draft ideas” and replace the placeholder.

SettingWhat to enterIn step
Your business and rulesReplace the placeholder with your business, niche, audience, tone, topics you never post about and hashtags you use. It starts as “[YOUR BUSINESS, YOUR NICHE AND AUDIENCE, YOUR TONE, TOPICS YOU NEVER POST ABOUT (E.G. POLITICS, TRAGEDIES) AND HASHTAGS YOU ALREADY USE]” until you replace it.“Pick the trends and draft ideas”

5. Pick the content database

Open “Save the ideas in Notion” and pick the account and database.

SettingWhat to enterIn step
Notion accountThe Notion workspace with your content database. Pick your connected Notion account.“Save the ideas in Notion”
Content databaseThe Notion database for the weekly ideas (a title property is enough). Share it with Fluxo Flow (••• → Connections).“Save the ideas in Notion”

6. Test it with Dry Run

Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.

7. Switch the trigger on

Open the trigger, set your time zone and switch the schedule on. It runs every Monday at 7:00.

How it works

The agent is a normal workflow with 7 steps (1 AI step). You can open, edit and monitor it like any other workflow.

  • Mondays at 7:00 — Runs on a schedule (cron 0 7 * * 1, UTC — change it in the trigger's settings). Runs every Monday morning. Set your time zone on the trigger.
  • Work out the last 7 days — Step. In code: today's date and the date 7 days ago, for the search.
  • Read Bluesky's trending topics — Calls a web address (HTTP request). Reads the topics trending on Bluesky right now from its public API (no sign-in).
  • Search your niche on Bluesky — Calls a web address (HTTP request). Reads the top 50 Bluesky posts of the last 7 days for your niche keywords from Bluesky's public search (no sign-in), with their likes and reposts.
  • Pick the trends and draft ideas — AI step (runs on your AI provider key). AI keeps the trending topics and hashtags that really fit your niche (only ones in the data) and drafts five post ideas, each with a Bluesky and a Mastodon version.
  • Save the ideas in Notion — Notion: Create a page in a database. Creates a page in your Notion content database with this week's trends, hashtags and drafted post ideas.
  • Ideas saved — Kept in the run history. Review them in Notion; nothing was posted.

Test it with Dry Run

Press Dry Run in the canvas. The agent runs on the sample data stored on its trigger (the “Sample data for Dry Run” box), so you can check every step's output before anything is live.

  • Nothing is sent or written: app actions, emails and Slack posts are simulated, and AI steps don't call your AI provider.

Go live

  • Open the trigger, set your time zone and switch the schedule on. It runs every Monday at 7:00.
  • Scheduled runs start only once the schedule is activated, and can't repeat faster than your plan's minimum interval.
  • The setup checklist adds a “paid plan” item before activation: live runs need a paid plan (the Free plan only runs Dry Runs).
  • When every checklist item is done and the trigger is on, the checklist says “Live — this agent is running”. Follow its runs in the workflow's History tab and in Analytics → Agents.

Questions

Where do the trends come from?

From Bluesky's public trending topics and its public post search, read without signing in. Bluesky's trending topics are mostly general news, so many weeks only a few (or none) fit a niche; the niche search fills the rest.

Does it post anything?

No. It drafts ideas in Notion; post the ones you like yourself or with the Social Post Scheduler.

What if Bluesky changes its public API?

The trending topics endpoint is marked unspecced by Bluesky and search may start asking for sign-in. If a source can't be read, the page says so and uses what it could read.

Troubleshooting

  • “No AI provider connected” or a rejected key: connect or fix the key in Settings → AI Providers, then press Test there.
  • A checklist item stays unticked: the setting is still empty or still contains its placeholder text. Open the step from the checklist and fill it in.
  • An app step fails with “Needs reconnect”: the account's access was revoked or expired. Reconnect it in Settings → Integrations.
  • It didn't run at the expected time: the schedule must be activated, and its time is in the trigger's timezone.
  • A step failed: open the run in History and check that step in the Trace tab for the error and what it received.
