Agent setup guide
Newsletter From Recent Posts
Every Monday, your blog's posts from the last 7 days become a ready-to-paste newsletter draft in Notion. It never sends.
What it does
Every Monday, your blog's posts from the last 7 days become a ready-to-paste newsletter draft in Notion. It never sends.
- Every Monday, reads your blog's public RSS or Atom feed.
- AI copies each post's title, link, date and summary; code keeps the posts published in the last 7 days. Dates are worked out in code, never by the AI: days until or since each date, the window and business days are computed in your workflow's time zone, and records outside the window are skipped before the AI sees them.
- AI drafts this week's issue in your voice from those posts only: three subject line ideas, preview text, an intro, a teaser and link per post, and your sign-off.
- Saves the draft as a page in your Notion database, with notes on anything to check. Weeks without new posts make no page.
What it needs
- A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans).
- An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
- Notion, connected in Settings → Integrations, with a database shared with Fluxo Flow.
- A public RSS or Atom feed for your blog.
What it doesn't do
- It never sends: the draft is in Notion for you to paste into beehiiv, Kit, Mailchimp or another tool (our connections to those can't create drafts).
- It describes posts only from their title and summary in the feed; it doesn't read the full articles.
- One feed, the newest 20 posts in it; posts without a readable date are left out.
Availability and plans
Available
Its workflow is built and tested, and every app it needs is live. You can get it and set it up now.
Included free on the Enterprise plan; on other paid plans it's a one-time purchase per workspace (the price is on the Agents page). The Agents page in the app always shows its current status.
Before you start
- A paid plan: agents run live, and the Free plan only runs Dry Runs.
- An AI provider key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more) in Settings → AI Providers. AI usage is billed by your provider.
- These apps, connected in Settings → Integrations: Notion.
- Nothing to send: the agent runs on a schedule.
- About 10 minutes.
Set it up step by step
Get the agent first (buy it, or it's already yours when your plan includes it), then in Agents → My agents press “Set up this agent”. That creates the agent's workflow in your workspace (it counts towards your plan's workflow limit) and opens the canvas with a setup checklist above it. Each item links to the exact place to go and ticks itself off when it's done.
1. Connect your AI provider
The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.
2. Connect Notion
Connect the Notion workspace with your newsletter database (Settings → Integrations → Notion).
3. Paste your feed address
Open “Read your blog's feed” and replace the example address with your blog's feed.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Your blog's feed address | Replace the example with your blog's RSS or Atom feed address, e.g. https://yourblog.com/feed. It starts as “https://YOUR-BLOG.example/feed” until you replace it. | “Read your blog's feed” |
4. Describe your newsletter
Open “Draft the newsletter” and replace the placeholder with your voice and sign-off.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Your newsletter's voice | Replace the placeholder with your newsletter's name, readers, tone, sign-off, call to action and words you never use. It starts as “[YOUR NEWSLETTER'S NAME, WHO READS IT, YOUR TONE (FRIENDLY, EXPERT, PLAYFUL…), HOW YOU SIGN OFF, A CALL TO ACTION YOU USE AT THE END AND WORDS YOU NEVER USE]” until you replace it. | “Draft the newsletter” |
5. Pick the drafts database
Open “Save the draft in Notion” and pick the account and database.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Notion account | The Notion workspace with your newsletter database. Pick your connected Notion account. | “Save the draft in Notion” |
| Newsletter drafts database | The Notion database for the drafts (a title property is enough). Share it with Fluxo Flow (••• → Connections). | “Save the draft in Notion” |
6. Test it with Dry Run
Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.
7. Switch the trigger on
Open the trigger, set your time zone (the 7 days are counted in it) and switch the schedule on. It runs every Monday at 8:00.
How it works
The agent is a normal workflow with 10 steps (2 AI steps). You can open, edit and monitor it like any other workflow.
- Mondays at 8:00 — Runs on a schedule (cron 0 8 * * 1, UTC — change it in the trigger's settings). Runs every Monday morning and covers the posts of the last 7 days. Set your time zone on the trigger; change the day or time there.
- Read your blog's feed — Calls a web address (HTTP request). Fetches your blog's public RSS or Atom feed (WordPress, Ghost, Squarespace, Substack, Webflow… all have one).
- List the posts in the feed — AI step (runs on your AI provider key). AI copies each post's title, link, date (as the feed writes it) and summary from the feed. It doesn't judge the dates: that's done in code next.
- Keep the last 7 days — Step. In code, not AI: keeps the posts published in the last 7 days (today included, in your time zone). Older posts and posts without a readable date are left out. Change the 7 days in this step.
- Draft the newsletter — AI step (runs on your AI provider key). AI drafts the issue from this week's posts only: subject line ideas, preview text, a short intro, one teaser per post with its link, and your sign-off.
- Anything new this week? — Step. In code: at least one post from the last 7 days, and a draft was written. Otherwise no page is made this week.
- Make the draft? — Decision: picks the branch to follow. New posts and a draft: the draft goes to Notion. Otherwise the run ends here.
- Nothing new this week — Kept in the run history. Branch: Nothing new. No post in the feed was published in the last 7 days (or the feed couldn't be read: the run history says why).
- Save the draft in Notion — Notion: Create a page in a database. Branch: Save. Creates a page in your Notion newsletter database with the subject ideas, preview text, the issue and the notes to check.
- Draft saved — Kept in the run history. Review the draft in Notion; nothing was sent.
Test it with Dry Run
Press Dry Run in the canvas. The agent runs on the sample data stored on its trigger (the “Sample data for Dry Run” box), so you can check every step's output before anything is live.
- Nothing is sent or written: app actions, emails and Slack posts are simulated, and AI steps don't call your AI provider.
Go live
- Open the trigger, set your time zone (the 7 days are counted in it) and switch the schedule on. It runs every Monday at 8:00.
- Scheduled runs start only once the schedule is activated, and can't repeat faster than your plan's minimum interval.
- The setup checklist adds a “paid plan” item before activation: live runs need a paid plan (the Free plan only runs Dry Runs).
- When every checklist item is done and the trigger is on, the checklist says “Live — this agent is running”. Follow its runs in the workflow's History tab and in Analytics → Agents.
Questions
Where do I find my feed address?
Most blogs have one: WordPress at /feed, Ghost at /rss, Squarespace at /blog?format=rss, Substack at /feed, Webflow when RSS is switched on for the collection. Open the address in a browser: you should see XML with your posts.
Why a Notion draft instead of a beehiiv, Kit or Mailchimp draft?
Our beehiiv, Kit and Mailchimp connections add and tag subscribers and list posts or campaigns, but can't create a draft issue. The Notion page holds the finished text to paste into your tool.
Does it send anything?
No. It only drafts; you review and send the issue from your newsletter tool.
Troubleshooting
- “No AI provider connected” or a rejected key: connect or fix the key in Settings → AI Providers, then press Test there.
- A checklist item stays unticked: the setting is still empty or still contains its placeholder text. Open the step from the checklist and fill it in.
- An app step fails with “Needs reconnect”: the account's access was revoked or expired. Reconnect it in Settings → Integrations.
- It didn't run at the expected time: the schedule must be activated, and its time is in the trigger's timezone.
- A step failed: open the run in History and check that step in the Trace tab for the error and what it received.
