Agent setup guide
Product Launch Social Kit
A new product in, a launch post for Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, your Facebook Page and LinkedIn plus an email teaser out, posted after you approve.
What it does
A new product in, a launch post for Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, your Facebook Page and LinkedIn plus an email teaser out, posted after you approve.
- Starts on each new product sent by Shopify Flow, another store or a manual run (title, link, price, description, notes).
- AI writes a launch post per network within its limit (Bluesky 300, Mastodon 500, Threads 500, Facebook 1500, LinkedIn 3000 characters) and an email teaser with a subject, in your voice, keeping every fact and the link.
- The whole kit waits for your approval in Reviews; you can edit any part.
- After approval, code checks every version (present, within its limit, no leftover placeholders); then it posts to Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, your Facebook Page and LinkedIn, only the ones you connected.
- You get an email with the approved teaser and, from each step's real result, where the launch went out and what was skipped.
What it needs
- A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans).
- An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
- At least one of Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Facebook Pages or LinkedIn, connected in Settings → Integrations (the steps for a network you don't connect are skipped).
- Shopify Flow, another store or a form that can send each new product to a webhook (or run it by hand).
What it doesn't do
- Nothing is posted without your approval.
- It doesn't send the email teaser to your subscribers: our Klaviyo and Kit connections can't create campaigns, so it's emailed to you to paste.
- Text and links only: no images or video on any network.
- It doesn't watch your store by itself: each new product has to be sent to the webhook. It doesn't schedule posts: they go out when you approve.
Availability and plans
Available
Its workflow is built and tested, and every app it needs is live. You can get it and set it up now.
Included free on the Enterprise plan; on other paid plans it's a one-time purchase per workspace (the price is on the Agents page). The Agents page in the app always shows its current status.
Before you start
- A paid plan: agents run live, and the Free plan only runs Dry Runs.
- An AI provider key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more) in Settings → AI Providers. AI usage is billed by your provider.
- These apps, connected in Settings → Integrations: Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Facebook Pages and LinkedIn.
- A form, app or system that can send each new item to a webhook URL (the agent starts from a webhook).
- About 20 minutes.
Set it up step by step
Get the agent first (buy it, or it's already yours when your plan includes it), then in Agents → My agents press “Set up this agent”. That creates the agent's workflow in your workspace (it counts towards your plan's workflow limit) and opens the canvas with a setup checklist above it. Each item links to the exact place to go and ticks itself off when it's done.
1. Connect your AI provider
The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.
2. Connect the networks you post to
Connect the ones you post to (Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn) in Settings → Integrations. One is enough; the steps for a network you don't connect are skipped.
- Connecting Bluesky
- Connecting Mastodon
- Connecting Threads (beta)
- Connecting Facebook Pages (beta)
- Connecting LinkedIn
3. Describe your store and voice
Open “Write the launch kit” and replace the placeholder with your store, tone and hashtags.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Your store and voice | Replace the placeholder with your store, tone, emoji or not, hashtags per network, email sign-off and words or claims you never use. It starts as “[DESCRIBE YOUR STORE, YOUR TONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, EMOJI OR NOT, HASHTAGS PER NETWORK, HOW YOU SIGN EMAILS AND WORDS OR CLAIMS YOU NEVER USE]” until you replace it. | “Write the launch kit” |
4. Pick your accounts
Open each posting step and pick your account (and your Page in “Post to your Facebook Page”). Leave a network empty if you don't use it: its step is skipped.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Bluesky account | The Bluesky account the launch post goes out from. Leave it empty if you don't use Bluesky: the step is then skipped. Pick your connected Bluesky account, or leave it empty if you don't use Bluesky (the step is then skipped). | “Post to Bluesky” |
| Mastodon account | The Mastodon account the launch post goes out from. Leave it empty if you don't use Mastodon: the step is then skipped. Pick your connected Mastodon account, or leave it empty if you don't use Mastodon (the step is then skipped). | “Post to Mastodon” |
| Threads account | The Threads account the launch post goes out from. Leave it empty if you don't use Threads: the step is then skipped. Pick your connected Threads account, or leave it empty if you don't use Threads (the step is then skipped). | “Post to Threads” |
| Facebook account | The Facebook login that manages your Page. Leave it empty if you don't use Facebook: the step is then skipped. Pick your connected Facebook Pages account, or leave it empty if you don't use Facebook Pages (the step is then skipped). | “Post to your Facebook Page” |
| Facebook Page | The Page the launch post goes out on. Leave it empty if you don't use Facebook: the step is then skipped. | “Post to your Facebook Page” |
| LinkedIn account | The LinkedIn member the launch post goes out as. Leave it empty if you don't use LinkedIn: the step is then skipped. Pick your connected LinkedIn account, or leave it empty if you don't use LinkedIn (the step is then skipped). | “Post on LinkedIn” |
5. Where the teaser goes
Open “Email you the teaser and what went out” and replace the example address with yours.
| Setting | What to enter | In step |
|---|---|---|
| Your email (teaser and results) | Who gets the email teaser and where the launch went out (up to 5, comma-separated). Replace the example address. It starts as “you@your-business.example” until you replace it. | “Email you the teaser and what went out” |
6. Test it with Dry Run
Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.
7. Switch the trigger on
Open the trigger, copy the webhook URL and secret into Shopify Flow (“Product added to store” → “Send HTTP request”) or your store, and switch it on. Fields: title, link, price, description, image_url, notes.
How it works
The agent is a normal workflow with 13 steps (1 AI step, with a person approving in Reviews). You can open, edit and monitor it like any other workflow.
- New product to launch — Starts when your form or app sends data to the agent's webhook URL. Starts when Shopify Flow (“Product added to store” → “Send HTTP request”), another store or a manual run sends one product: title, link, price (optional), description, image_url (optional) and notes (optional, e.g. “launch price until Friday”).
- Write the launch kit — AI step (runs on your AI provider key). AI writes one launch post per network (Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, your Facebook Page, LinkedIn) within each one's limit, and an email teaser with a subject line, in your voice and with every fact from the product kept.
- Approve the launch kit — A person approves or rejects it in Reviews (the run waits). Every post and the email teaser wait in Reviews: edit any of them, then approve to post. Reject to post nothing.
- Check before posting — Step. Branch: Approved. In code: every version is there, fits its network's limit and has no leftover placeholders, and the email has a subject.
- Passed the checks? — Decision: picks the branch to follow. All versions passed: they go out on the networks you connected. Otherwise nothing is posted.
- Held: nothing posted — Kept in the run history. Branch: Held. A version was blank, too long or still had a placeholder. Fix it and send the product again.
- Post to Bluesky — Bluesky: Create a post. Branch: Post. Publishes the Bluesky version. Skipped when Bluesky isn't connected.
- Post to Mastodon — Mastodon: Publish a post. Publishes the Mastodon version (public). Skipped when Mastodon isn't connected.
- Post to Threads — Threads: Publish a text post. Publishes the Threads version with a link preview. Skipped when Threads isn't connected.
- Post to your Facebook Page — Facebook Pages: Publish a post. Publishes the Facebook version with the product link on your Page. Skipped when Facebook Pages isn't connected.
- Post on LinkedIn — LinkedIn: Create a post. Publishes the LinkedIn version as you, with a link card. Skipped when LinkedIn isn't connected.
- Email you the teaser and what went out — Sends an email from your workspace's sender. Emails you the approved email teaser (ready for your newsletter tool) and, from each posting step's real result, where the launch went out and which networks were skipped.
- Launched — Kept in the run history. The run history keeps every version and each network's result.
Test it with Dry Run
Press Dry Run in the canvas. The agent runs on the sample data stored on its trigger (the “Sample data for Dry Run” box), so you can check every step's output before anything is live. Edit the sample to match the fields your own form or app sends.
Sample data fields
title, link, price, description, image_url, notes.
- Nothing is sent or written: app actions, emails and Slack posts are simulated, and AI steps don't call your AI provider.
- Approval steps use the Dry Run decision you pick in the step's settings (approved, rejected or timeout), so you can try each branch.
Go live
- Open the trigger, copy the webhook URL and secret into Shopify Flow (“Product added to store” → “Send HTTP request”) or your store, and switch it on. Fields: title, link, price, description, image_url, notes.
- The webhook is protected by a secret: send it in the header shown in the Activation panel (requests without it are refused with 403). Each request starts one run.
- The setup checklist adds a “paid plan” item before activation: live runs need a paid plan (the Free plan only runs Dry Runs).
- When every checklist item is done and the trigger is on, the checklist says “Live — this agent is running”. Follow its runs in the workflow's History tab and in Analytics → Agents.
Questions
Which networks does it post to?
Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, a Facebook Page and LinkedIn: connect the ones you use. A network you don't connect is skipped, and the email names where the launch really went out.
Why is the email teaser emailed to me instead of sent to my list?
Our Klaviyo and Kit connections can add and tag subscribers and record events, but can't create a campaign or broadcast, so the approved teaser comes to you to paste into your newsletter tool.
Does anything go out without me?
No. The whole kit waits in Reviews; nothing is posted until you approve, and rejecting it posts nothing.
Troubleshooting
- “No AI provider connected” or a rejected key: connect or fix the key in Settings → AI Providers, then press Test there.
- A checklist item stays unticked: the setting is still empty or still contains its placeholder text. Open the step from the checklist and fill it in.
- An app step fails with “Needs reconnect”: the account's access was revoked or expired. Reconnect it in Settings → Integrations.
- Nothing happens when your form sends data: check the webhook is switched on and the request carries the secret header (403 means it's missing or wrong).
- A run shows as paused: it's waiting for someone in Reviews to approve or reject it.
- A step failed: open the run in History and check that step in the Trace tab for the error and what it received.
